Getting Started with Netscape

Setting up Netscape Accelerator is easy! Follow these easy steps to download and configure your Netscape software in minutes:


Step 1: Download and install Netscape Accelerated Internet Service

1. Go to http://www.netscape.ca/download to get started.
2. Click the Download Now button.
3. You will be asked to Open or Save the Netscape Accelerator installation file.
4. Save the file, called NOLsetup.exe to your desktop.
5. Double-click on the icon to launch the installer.

Step 2: Setup the Netscape Accelerator Software
The installation program will walk you through the complete setup process. If you have installed Netscape Accelerated Internet Service previously, you will be prompted to uninstall it prior to installing this new version.



You will be asked to choose one of two options:

• I need an account or
• I already have an account

If you have already signed up for Netscape Accelerated Internet Service, make sure that you choose "I already have an account" and be ready with your username and password.

Do not sign up again. Signing up again will create a second account and result in multiple charges to your credit card or bank account.




Step 3: Select your local dial-up number
Follow the instructions on screen to select a local phone number that you will use to dial into the Netscape network.




Step 4: Enter any specific dialing rules that you need to have enabled in order to connect to the Internet.




Step 5: Enter your account information




Step 6: Connect to the Internet
When the Netscape Accelerated Internet Service installation is complete, the software will lanch automatically. If not, launch the software manually from the Start menu. Connect to the Internet by clicking on Connect.




Step 7: Download the Accelerator
The first time you connect, the Netscape software will automatically download the install the Accelerator. It is important tht you stay connected to the Internet during the entire Accelerator download/installation in order for your software to work correctly. Download times will vary, but typically take 5 minutes or less. A message will display when the download is complete.




You're Done!
You will now see the Netscape Accelerator icon in your system tray. Open your favourite browser and start surfing up to 19x faster!
